Materials – learning about their properties, comparing materials and considering why they are chosen for different uses.

Rocks and soils – learning about the rocks beneath our feet, how they are formed, different types and their uses. How soils is formed.

Light and shadows – leaning about the sources of light and how shadows are formed. How and why do shadows change?

Teeth and Eating – Human and animal teeth, their development, uses and care. The importance of a balanced diet and what makes this up.

Helping Plants Grow – reviewing what is already known about plants and investigating how we can prove this by designing our own fair tests.

Magnets and Springs – Investigating the forces exerted by these, how do we use this in everyday life. Designing experiments to test their properties.
