I thought I would use this first attempt at blogging to say how pleased I was with today’s student council meeting. 

Not everyone was able to make it so we managed to have the meeting in my study, though I was impressed when Hollie arrived, having just completed her two day art exam – full marks for commitment!  It was great to take the opportunity to spend time with a group of children, discussing their ideas for the college and, although one or two of them were a little “out there”, there were some very positive thoughts and a real willingness to get involved in some of the wider initiatives, such as gaining the college eco school status.  There was also support for some fund-raising ideas and Year 11 acknowledged that there were now enough coffee mugs to go around!  One more meeting to go this year in June, but a really good first year for the Senior student council, building on the success of the Junior council.
