Downslink Challenge - 24.05.10
Having just about managed to cycle 30 miles last year for the Downslink Challenge, I had mixed feelings when my 11 year old daughter announced she wanted to cycle the 30 this year.  Nonetheless, after a little bit of training, we assembled at the start point at 8.00am with some confidence.  It was a fantastic day and I was very impressed at the number of people that managed to cycle the 30, including some really quite young children.  Many others participated in the walk and all I spoke to were very impressed with the organisation of the marshalls and the refreshment stops.  Obviously I particularly enjoyed the sausage rolls at the end.  We don’t have a total yet but clearly we are well on course to raise a significant amount of money for Chestnut Tree Hospice again and I would like to thank everyone who took part or helped out on the day – it was a fantastic effort from all concerned.
