The Martin talked about the community work that the club has already undertaken, and further plans for the new American Express community stadium, as well as the exciting challenges that come in 11 weeks’ time when the club is formally handed the keys to the new stadium. Sarah Hopwood from Paul Hopwood Consulting Ltd did an excellent job facilitating the evening, which included an interview with our very own entrepreneurs, Ellie Knight and Harry Nash. Also in attendance were a number of Year 10 and Year 11 students with an interest in business and other careers. I had several very positive comments about the turn out of the children, how they conducted themselves, and I was very impressed that they were brave enough to take the plunge and involve themselves in this networking event. It would appear that not only a number of our parents, wearing their “business hat” on this occasion, but others outside the college community gained a lot from the evening. Following this success we are hopeful that we will be able to run another event in the future, so watch this space.
