| 21st January 2010 - U10 Rugby v Broadwater Manor |
|
On 21 January the Under 10’s travelled to Broadwater Manor for the first match of the school rugby season. The team were well prepared for the encounter and in the right mind set to play good rugby. After a quick warm up upon arrival the match began. From kick off, which Shoreham won, the boys stormed up the pitch. Quick hands saw the first of an onslaught of tries scored by Noah Ridgeway – Brown in the corner. Within a few minutes the score was hugely in favour of Shoreham. Throughout the match they demonstrated strong aggressive play both in attack and defence. By half time the game was over as a competition as the Shoreham boys were out of sight. The second half continued in much the same way with continued aggressive play from Shoreham resulting in a barrage of tries. Credit must be given to Broadwater who played on with great team spirit and determination but could not cross the Shoreham try line. By full time Shoreham had amassed a huge score of 105 – 0. This was a good game where Shoreham were given the opportunity to execute some exciting attacking moves and demonstrate their strong defensive play. The signs are promising for a successful season and there are a lot of positives to build on from this brilliant win. Under 10 squad: Finn Tobin, Ben Nash, Samuel Thompson, Charlie Knight, Jacob Bizzel – Hawes, Blake Barling (c), Noah Ridgeway - Brown, Zachary Battle – Welch, Aidan Cannon, Harry Marsh and Daniel Phillips. Try Scorers: Finn, Ben, Charlie, Jacob, Blake, Noah, Zachary |
