22nd January 2010 - Independent Schools London South U11 Netball Tournament

Shoreham College came second on their home courts as they hosted the Independent Schools London South under-11 netball tournament.

Appalling weather conditions forced the tournament inside to the college’s sports hall and Lingfield Notre Dame emerged as the overall winners for the second successive year, with Shoreham second ahead of fellow Sussex school, the Towers.

Six schools took part with the tournament following a round robin format.

Teacher Jude Liley said: “The matches were of a very high standard and extremely competitive at times.  All the girls played well and the afternoon was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.  I was delighted with the event and all the girls gained great experience from it.  I am so proud of the Shoreham girls coming second and winning the silver medals.”

Babington House, Collingwood School and Gad’s Hill School also took part with every player receiving a certificate and medals for the winners, runners-up and third placed teams.
