On the 26th of January the Under 12 netball team went to the East Grinstead Sports Centre to play in the Sussex Independent Schools Netball Association Tournament.

We played 6 games against Cumnor House, Brighton College Prep, St Andrews, Brighton College Senior, Burgess Hill school for Girls and Brighton and Hove School for girls. We Lost 1, Drew 1 and Won 4. It was unbelievably cold and we all did very well considering two of the players were ill. We came 2nd overall and all of us got silver medals. All of the games were very challenging and whilst we were all beaming from getting the medals, we were desperate to get on the bus to warm up and go home!

Additional note from Mrs Liley:

I was tremendously proud of the girls at the Tournament. I knew they were going to be put to the test and really challenged in their performance. They were outstanding, really pushing themselves hard and raising their game, which was great to see.  Amy Wedge (C) fought hard but felt pretty poorly, so Sophie Rantau-Anderson stepped in brilliantly as centre to relieve Amy at times. The defenders; Ella Scammell and Georgina Liley had a busy afternoon retrieving the ball, the Shooters; Jasmine and Amelia Ritchie shot some unbelievable goals and the wings; Gabriella Jones and Lucie Street did a great job supporting the centre. We held our own so well against the other schools and to come away with the Silver Medal was a proud moment for us, the girls truly deserved it. The girls gained a medal and l lost my voice!! I must also thank the brave parents for standing in that cold and also to Ashleigh Kirby and Emma Quinlan for their support.

Many congratulations to you all: ELLA SCAMMELL, JASMINE MILWARD, LUCIE STREET, GEORGINA LILEY, AMELIA RITCHIE, GABRIELLA JONES, SOPHIE RANTAU-ANDERSON AND AMY WEDGE.
