1st February 2011 - U14 and U15 Netball v Lancing College

It was a damp and cold afternoon when we played Lancing College at home today. They were a little late arriving, due to their coach not turning up, and I wonder what the result would have been if the full match had been played!

The Under 14’s had a tough start and struggled to find their momentum and found themselves 8-2 down in the first break. Gathering together and giving each other support as well as from Miss Powell, they went into the second, only to come away 14-7 down. More work was still seriously required, so again they got together and for the last 10 minutes they were prepared to go for all out! This they did and fought so hard to catch up and what a match it was. Although they lost 17-12 they really put their heart and soul into the game. Brilliant effort!

WELL DONE TO YOU ALL: CHARLOTTE ALLCOCK, OLIVIA FOLEY, GEORGIA JONES, REBECCA TENNENT, KATIE THOMAS, BILLIE HALL, NATASHA WHITEHOUSE AND NATASHA QVORTRUP.

FINAL SCORE : SHOREHAM COLLEGE 12- LANCING COLLEGE 17

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: THE WHOLE TEAM!

The Under 15’s had a very level start with their match. I though that it was going to be another tough game like last year, but after the first 10 mins we began to take the lead and were 8-4 up.  Our girls then really began to fly around the court, especially SOPHIE WALLS and Lancing were unable to score again. Both EMMA QUINLAN and BETHANY CHAMPION were on superb shooting form, securing us a very comfortable victory.

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL: SOPHIE WALLS, EMMA QUINLAN, BETHANY CHAMPION, BECKY SYKES, ABBIE BROWN, SOPHIE OCKENDEN, CHISHIMBA KABOLE AND HANNAH PIERCE.

FINAL SCORE: SHOREHAM COLLEGE 22- LANCING COLLEGE 4

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: SOPHIE WALLS AND EMMA QUINLAN.
