| 11th February - U16 A & B Netball v Sion |
|
The Under 16’s went away to Sion this afternoon. It is a number of years since we have played the senior team, so we had no knowing of how the matches would go. It was wonderful to take nearly all the girls from Year 11 and they all had a great afternoon.
The A team had an outstanding afternoon. The whole team were on top form from beginning to end, firing off all cylinders, flying around the court and as for the goals scored, seeing was believing! They marked superbly and their passing was so quick, especially some tosses from Ashleigh Kirby to Amy Lovelidge! Zoe Martin’s feet seemed to spend more time in the air than on the ground, Jada Salih’s passing was brilliant, Katherine Godfray was racing around and the two defenders Amber Morgan and Indianna Lethbridge-Evans marked superbly. It was a match not to be forgotten, with an outstanding result. FINAL SCORE – SHOREHAM COLLEGE 30 - SION 5 PLAYER OF THE MATCH (and this was hard!) ZOE MARTIN AND AMY LOVELIDGE. The B team also had a terrific afternoon. Whilst it took them a little longer to sort themselves out, only due to having not played or practised together for a while, they soon got into the match and had a great game. They too were soon flying around the court with Summer Lansberry as Centre. Nancy Hall and Holly Hazeldine shot some lovely goals and defence with from Samantha Loveday, Christina Cushing and Amy Wootten. Wings; Scarlett Han, Ellen Gunn, Charlotte Munn and Maisie Magnus all took it in turns to take part. A tremendous game by everyone and a lovely victory too!
