|
The U14’s & U15’s went away for a match against Sion on Tuesday. A beautiful afternoon and it has been a while since we last played Sion at this age level. Both teams were to play both A & B teams, so each having two matches each.
The Under 14’s played their B match first and this took them a while to settle into the game. Sion are a strong side but we were determined to give them our best shot. We were down at half time, the ball seemed not to want to go through the hoop this afternoon! We quickly settled into the second half, feeling more in control and soon the scores were level. Into the last couple of minutes Shoreham held control of the ball and scored a couple of stunning goals to win the match. Terrific effort made by them all. Well done! FINAL SCORE- SHOREHAM COLLEGE 8 SION 6 PLAYER OF THE MATCH GEORGIA JONES Their second match against the A side was to prove a little too strong for us. However they gained experience and knowledge of the way that Sion performed, which was outstanding, although we lost this match 7-0, they put up a great performance and should be proud of their efforts. FINAL SCORE – SHOREHAM COLLEGE 0 SION 7 PLAYER OF THE MATCH- GEORGIA JONES
The Under 15’s played the A team first and this was a real test to their game. They defended really well and had some terrific passes between them. The match was pretty even, although we were down in the first half 5-3. With work to do in the second half, they stepped up a gear in their defence and Bethany Champion scored some stunning goals. We were closing in towards the end but couldn’t quite catch up and the final score was 8-6 to Sion. A great game with real determination. FINAL SCORE – SHOREHAM COLLEGE 6 – SION 8 PLAYER OF THE MATCH – SOPHIE WALLS
Their second match against the B team was slightly easier. Having well warmed up against the first match, they played superbly together in this game, with some superb passing from Sophie Ockenden. Emma Quinlan and Bethany Champion both scored some fabulous goals and of course Sophie Walls was charging up and down the court as Centre as usual! A great victory for them. FINAL SCORE – SHOREHAM COLLEGE 8 -SION 6 PLAYER OF THE MATCH- SOPHIE OCKENDEN
WELL DONE TO YOU ALL. |
