16th September 2009 - U13(B) Football v Pennthrope(B)

A great afternoon of Football was played at home in blustery conditions. Luke Pope (Captain) organised the team well in the warm-up and skills session and with some final words; play in their half and lots of shots at goal, the whistle blew and Shoreham College kicked off.

After 18 minutes of tense Football within the Pennthorpe's half, Elliott Le-Warde showed his class with a great finish at the near post from a cross by Dan Benson. Going into half time 1-0, the team were in good spirits and maturely saw the score as 0-0. Harry Phillips kept out Pennthorpe and stopped many shots from outside the area. Jake Wiseman-Lovett , Will Lee , James Martin and Joe Risbridger were highly effective at moving up in attack and sprinting back in defense. Across the middle, Lucas Wright , Dan Benson , Luke Pope , and Joel Lamping worked hard to support the strikers. Great moments in matches really make the team gel and when Sean Martin beat his marker in the right-hand corner, passed to Elliott Le-Warde who crossed it, Joel Lamping ran in and finished with a wonderful header; Sean Martin was rewarded later in the match with a goal of his own.

Final Score:
Shoreham College 3 Pennthorpe 0

Most Valuable Players:
Luke Pope & Harry Phillips
