Our first Netball match of the season took place away at Steyning Grammar school. Having been back just 3 school days and a quick half an hour practise for the Under 15’s before the match, it was going to be an interesting afternoon.

Both the teams seemed to gel together really quickly and I was impressed by how enthusiastic they were to get on with the match.

The Under 14’s did manage to get a lesson in before their match and this truly set them up for their game. Both teams were pretty evenly matched and although it was a rather a low scoring game, they played some tremendous Netball. All of the team put their heart and soul into the game and performed beautifully, passing sharply, good positioning around the court and great directional signals.  The came away with a great win, although it got close towards the end.

The Under 15’s also had a fabulous match. They too were pretty evenly matched although they were losing in the first quarter. Into the second quarter, we began to get control of the match and had by now settled down and the shooters began to take off, scoring 8 goals and taking the lead by 2 goals at half time.

This all changed again with Steyning coming back and taking the lead again and so into the final quarter it was anyone’s game.  Everyone worked so hard into those last few minutes to pull off a victory and it worked!
