Under 9 Football V Windlesham School
The Year 4 football team had a tough game in their first ever match for the school, losing to Windlesham School 7-0. The score-line a-side, the boys fought a good battle and kept on going until the final whistle sounded.
Lucas Atherton and William Huet played some good football and put together some good passing and threatened the opposition’s goal on several occasions. Charlie Loxley, Harry Taswell and Matthew Sharp all had spells playing in defence and made some super tackles.
Well done to the whole team, who I’m sure are already looking forward to next week’s match against Broadwater Manor.

Under 10 Football Vs Windlesham School
The first game of the season for the U10’s got off to a frantic start. After the lunchtime rain showers, the slippery surface made conditions difficult for the team. They coped well however and made a strong start. A break from John Shouler saw him shoot at goal to open the scoring. There was then a strong period of play from Windlesham School who quickly equalised. At half time, the score was 1-1.
A few changes at half time saw Luca Bigg move out from goal into midfield. Harrison Scott and Harley Prince made way for Benedetto DeVizio, who moved into the goal, and Matthew Jenner.
Windlesham continued the pressure from the first half and made a few surging runs up field and had some good shots on goal. The pressure eventually told with the Windlesham striker shooting and beating Benedetto DeVizio to take the lead. Shoreham were then kicked into life and brilliant interplay between Kai Green, John Shouler and Luca Bigg resulted in a brilliant shot by Luca which passed the Windlesham keeper. At 2 – 2 the game really started to turn in the favour of Shoreham. John Shouler made a brilliant break up the field only to be taken down by the Windlesham goalkeeper in the box. The resulting penalty, taken by Kai Green, saw Shoreham stretch their lead to 3 – 2. Moments later, Kai struck again, making the score 4 – 2. To Windlesham’s credit, they never gave in and scored in the dying moments of the game. From the kick-off Windelsham regained the ball for one last attack, but they were kept from scoring by a great save from Matthew Jenner.
Final score 4 – 3.
A good start to the season. Shoreham played well at times, but there is still a lot to work on in preparation for the next game.
