22nd September 2010 - U11 & U13 Netball v Somting Abbotts

During a glorious afternoon in some late summer sunshine, the U11 and U13 Netball teams went over to Sompting Abbotts.

The Under 11’s had had a tough start last week against St Christopher’s but this did not stop their determination to try again this week at Sompting. They struggled to find their momentum in the first quarter, but after a good chat with Miss Heard, they then began to zigzag the ball more and take more control of their actions. They really slowed the game down and managed to come away with a much smaller margin of defeat. Whilst they lost the match, it was tremendous improvement on the previous game.

Well done to the team: A.PHIPPS, H.GRIFFITHS, R.MUNDAY, L.SIMON, O.KELSEY, E.PROSSER, E.BROCK AND R.BRECKELL.

FINAL SCORE:  SHOREHAM COLLEGE 1 -SOMPTING ABBOTTS 6

PLAYER OF THE MATCH -  HANNAH GRIFFITHS

The Under 13’s had a wonderful game. They were so well matched and the players were on excellent form this afternoon.  There was a lot of quick passing and Centre Olivia Watts, supported by Lauren Warnes and Ellie Knight did a great job working together.  Holly Clenton-Slimmings and Lily Welch defended beautifully and the shooters, Roseanne Milward and Millie Foreman took an early lead with 6 goals to one at half time. However, Sompting then can back with a challenge and pushing us to the end, we managed to concede victory by 15-7. A great match had by all.
