An evening full of passion, drama and education was had when pupils from Shoreham College took to the stage to great acclaim from appreciative audiences.
The play, entitled ‘Shakespeare’s Dead!’ was written and directed by Richard Stone, drama teacher at Shoreham College and performed by pupils from year 7-11 to great acclaim from appreciative audiences.
The play featured numerous classic scenes, speeches and sonnets created by William Shakespeare using a variety of classic and contemporary music to help bring them to life.
The cast were superbly led by Reuben Benkel as the increasingly bemused professor trying to keep order as his hired actors created original and inventive ways of presenting the work of his beloved bard. The Tempest, Twelfth Night and Romeo and Juliet were just some of the plays the cast tackled with great flair and enthusiasm.
Mr Stone commented, “Shakespeare himself may have died 400 years ago but all these expert young actors ensured that his language lives on. Well done to all!”
