Dear Parent, Your son / daughter has been in the CCF for a term now and is making steady progress towards their Army Proficiency Certificate. To complete the certificate this year they will need to attend an Annual Camp run by the Army. The camp this year is at Crowborough Camp. The cadets will be accommodated in huts and catering will be undertaken by outside caterers. The dates of the camp are the 11th - 18th July 2010 inclusive. This year we will again be attending a central camp run by Cadet Training Teams with the assistance of other regular soldiers. Your son / daughter will have the opportunity of seeing demonstrations by infantry patrols in action as well as carrying out similar supervised training exercises. The cadets will also be involved in orienteering, field craft, range work, assault courses and some adventure training. As well as these there should be a full day exercise and the chance to take their self-reliance test that involves an overnight camp. It should prove to be a full and enjoyable week. The cadet’s financial contribution towards the 2010 camp will again be £35. This sum may be paid in cash or by cheque. The only other finance required will be that of pocket money. I hope that you will be willing to allow your son / daughter to attend this camp which I firmly believe to be a high point and one of the most enjoyable parts of the years training with the CCF. This year it has again been decided to hold an information evening so that you can find out a little more about the activities your son/ daughter will be involved in and clear up any queries you may have. This has been rescheduled for Wednesday 20th January 2010 from 7pm to 8pm, in Lab 9. This meeting is primarily aimed at parents of cadets who have not attended an Annual Camp before; but, of course, all are welcome.
