Dear Parents 4 January 2012
As you may be aware pupils in Year 6 are given the opportunity to participate in a residential activity course in the summer term. This gives the children a chance to participate in challenging and adventurous activities in a safe environment. The trip is designed to promote team building skills and self-confidence before they make the progression to Key Stage 3.
The course lasts three days and involves two nights camping. College staff will accompany the children on the trip and all activities will be supervised by qualified staff from Trekking Co Ltd, a reputable company which the College has used many times in the past.
The details are as follows:
An information evening has been arranged Thursday 19th January at 6.00pm in the Lewis Hall, where a representative from The Trekking Company will be available to give further information on the activities and to answer any questions you may have. If you wish to attend please indicate so on the reply slip attached.
If you wish your child to participate in the trip, would you please fill in the permission slip and return it to the school along with a non-refundable deposit of £50, no later than Monday 30th January. The remaining balance of £150 is due no later than Friday 23rd March. Please note all monies are non-refundable unless there are insufficient numbers to run the trip. If a pupil withdraws from the trip money can only be refunded if a suitable replacement can be found. Travel insurance should be taken out separately if required.
If your child’s behaviour or attitude should prove unacceptable at any time before the outing, we reserve the right to refuse their taking part in this activity.
Yours sincerely
