Changes to the Year 9 Geography Curriculum - 17.01.12

17 January 2012

Dear Parents/Guardians

Re: Changes to the Year 9 Geography Curriculum

With the recent government changes to the Key Stage 4 curriculum, you will know that modular exams have now been removed from GCSE Geography and therefore all exams will be sat during the June terminal session of Year 11.

To help maximise pupil performance and facilitate revision in the later stages of the GCSE, the decision has been taken to start the GCSE Geography course immediately after Easter. Pupils who have not opted to complete the subject as a GCSE will still find the content of the revised curriculum being taught relevant to their ongoing studies in Geography.

If you have any queries concerning the revised change to the Year 9 curriculum, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely
