This year’s Under 11 team kicked off their season with a tough fixture against a well drilled Pennthorpe side. The boys conceded 2 early tries and spent most of the first half defending inside their own 22 yard line. The best tackle of the first half was made by William Lee who managed to bring down Pennthorpe’s biggest player as he tried to muscle his way through Shoreham’s defence.

The second half was a big improvement on the first. Despite being 25 points down, the team kept their head up and battled hard to win a good deal more possession of the ball than they’d had in the first half. In the end however, Pennthorpe proved to be too much for us to handle this early in the season.

Man of the Match was Captain Thomas Wedge for his leadership and commitment.

Final score: Pennthorpe 37 - Shoreham College 0.
