| 28th Jan 2009 - U13 Rugby v Broadwater Manor |
|
When the under-13 rugby team travelled to Broadwater Manor we definitely felt up for it. The first half kicked off with Broadwater kicking to Shoreham, Will Thomas took the ball fantastically and ran through loads of tackles then offloaded it well to Luke Quincey who went on to run through the whole defence and score the try. The forwards did a brilliant job of rucking and mauling to win the ball for our scrum-half Jake Robinson who fed the ball to the backs really well. Callum Ritchie had a great game making some good tackles and runs. Half time kicked off with Ryan Elson coming on for Callum and Bertie Hinkely coming on for Toby Withers. Bertie had a great game (seeing how it was his first match for Shoreham) with good runs through the Broadwater defence. Cian Brittle and Ross Ball made some crunching tackles in the second half. Jack Woods was pack leader and did well guiding the forwards around the pitch. Andrew Trevis did well at Hooker making us win virtually every scrum and lineout. The forwards did some great driving over the Broadwater try line with Andrew scoring a try and me scoring two. There were some notable performances from Ryan Scott who kept the backs well aligned and John Williams who gave the pack some extra strength and height. Overall it was a really enjoyable game and we can’t wait for the challenge of St Christopher’s for our next game. U13 Squad: Final Score: Shoreham College 56 Broadwater Manor 7
