Our first rounders match of the year was against the towers, who are a strong team in netball and also rounders. We batted first and thanks to some good hits by Katie, Imy and Lucy we had 8 and a half rounders. Then it was our turn to field. Imy, who was playing out of position, did very well bowling. Charlotte Street made an excellent catch at 1st post. Ashley also did well with some fantastic long throws from 2nd deep. Charlotte Harrison also did some good fielding at 1st deep. After the first innings the score was 10-8½ to the towers. Then it was our turn to bat again but unfortunately it did not go as we had hoped. Louisa, Amy and Katie did well but at the end of our batting we had a total of 10 rounders. Then we fielded, Amy played bowler and Imy played at 3rd deep. There was good bowling by Amy, Emma made two catches at backstop and there was calm and thoughtful passing from Hollie at 3rd post. Unfortunately at the end of the game the final score was 20-10 to the towers. Although we lost the team played well and will hopefully improve as the term goes on.
