Firstly, thank you to our speaker, Amy Williams….

It's always encouraging to see what passion and commitment some have to their jobs and activities, and that is what it's all about isn't it? Commitment and passion. The fuel that allows for any and all of our achievements; a glimmer of hope in the mundane everyday life in the human condition. And it is the most essential ingredient in the recipe for a success.

Good morning everyone. Firstly, on behalf of Erin and myself we would like to thank our speaker, Mr Liam Rosenior, for allowing us a glimpse of his life story and also the Headmaster for his speech. I have had so many memories throughout the 5 years I have spent at the college, from trekking through mud-filled forests on DofE, hopelessly trying to kayak on the Blacklands trip and making my first paella in food tech.

239 years ago today, the 4th of July, America gained its independence from Great Britain. And how apt should today be that very same day for us year 11s. Much like the Americans gained the ability to self-govern, we are also being released into the big bad world to make our own decisions that will shape our respective futures. However, Shrove Tuesday will never be the same again without watching our beloved pancake scramble; involving 16 9 year olds on opposing teams scrabbling for some undercooked, oversized pancake-batter in a carefully controlled carnage. A fond memory of our unique school which all Shorehamers share.

Ben and I have both been at Shoreham for long periods of time. Ben has been here from the very beginning in early years, and I know he can remember scrambling to get the best toy car, and I started in year 2, and between us I think we have learnt quite a lot.

Welcome from the Head Boy (2013-2014) - JAMES

I would never have believed, that when I apprehensively joined Shoreham College at 12 years of age, I would go on to be Head Boy. What a privilege! Testament though to the friendliness and commitment of all the staff here, who have brought out the best in me over the years and given me the confidence to take on this role. I would recommend this College to anyone as a place where you can feel at home and have the support you need to become successful.
