The Under 13’s had a slow start to their game, they lost the loss and were made to bat first. They played well but did not quite have the passion to really push the ball out as well as they usually do. It was a pity, as the teams were well matched. However at half time we were only 2.5 rounders behind, they were determined to put a bit more fire into their batting. Unluckily the first three hit cracking shots only to be all caught out superbly by the opposition. Hannah Peirce ran her heart out around the pitch and Becky Sykes also played brilliantly.

Our fielding did not let them at all, and they remained focused right throughout the game. Freya Matthews (bowler) and Sophie Ockenden (1st post) got a fair few out and Sophie Walls and Bethany Champion were fabulous at Backstop and 2nd post.

The score does not really reflect their performance and I know they were disappointed to lose, but they should hold their heads up, in fact they won the second innings. Keep going girls!
