| 11th May 2010 - U14 & U15 Rounders v Newlands |
|
The Under 14’s and Under 15 Rounders teams played over at Newlands this afternoon. I thought perhaps we had got the season wrong, it was SO cold!! Notwithstanding, we persevered the chill and warmed up for the match.
The Under 15’s won the toss and chose to field first. Amy Lovelidge was on superb bowling form with Ashleigh Kirby as backstop. Sammie Loveday bravely stepped into 1st post, in which she really got going in the 2nd half. Amber Morgan was an excellent 1st deep, constantly encouraging all the team on and Katherine Godfray was ace at 2nd deep. Zoe Martin got a number of girls superbly out at 2nd post, Jada Salih at 3rd, Libby Davis-Smith and Charlotte Munn were all fantastic in the team.
The batting was superb, with all the girls contributing to the score, but Jada Salih, Katherine Godfray and Charlotte Munn were the last three in and they worked so hard and pretty exhausted by the end of the match. It was such a fantastic team effort that the Player of the Match has to go to the whole team on their superb victory. Well Done !!
FINAL SCORE : PLAYER OF THE MATCH: THE WHOLE TEAM!
The Under 14’s also had a wonderful game. Unfortunately Newlands didn’t really get a look in. Our bowling by Bethany Champion was superb supported by Sophie Walls so enthusiastically organizing the team, who all worked so hard at their batting and fielding skills. Lexi Pickett and Hannah Peirce must also be mentioned for their enthusiasm towards the match. Shoreham came away with a wonderful victory. Well Done to you all.
FINAL SCORE: PLAYER OF THE MATCH: SOPHIE WALLS
