Junior Trips and Enrichment

At Shoreham College, we believe learning extends beyond the classroom. Our junior pupils undertake a broad range of visits to enhance and support their curriculum.

Our focus is on education and fun, and our children love to explore new places. Whether our pupils are investigating the oldest secular building in Sussex, scaling the walls of a medieval castle, or mingling with the meerkats at Marwell Zoo, they return with happy memories and a new understanding of the wider world and themselves. Our trips include Portsmouth Naval Dockyards, Arundel and Lewes castles, Chichester Cathedral, the Millennium Seed Bank, Marlipins Museum, Adur recycling centre, and Marwell Zoo.

In addition, various thought-provoking speakers visit us during assemblies and PSHE days to share their ideas and visions. Throughout the year, our children benefit from a series of enrichment events. These include science and technology days, historical experience days, and Arts festivals. We encourage our pupils to participate in a variety of annual events, including Harvest Festival, the Christmas play, and our nativity and carol services. In the Lent term, the children join in the music concert, and staff and pupils celebrate World Book Day with visiting speakers, themed costumes, and many more book-related activities.
