Trips and Enrichment
At Shoreham College, learning extends well beyond the classroom, and we strive to give our Little Lions opportunities to explore and become familiar with their surroundings and local community. A stimulating co-curricular programme and a series of educational visits enrich our extensive curriculum. Learning in different environments helps our children to become more adaptable, curious, and confident.
Developing their independence and understanding of the world around them, our children explore our local area through enjoyable trips to a variety of nearby places, including the park, post office, and Chinese supermarket. Venturing further afield, children visit Steyning Museum, SEA LIFE Brighton, Drusillas Park, Holmbush Farm, and the Shoreham Lifeboat Station.
We host an array of engaging enrichment days, which inspire our children’s creativity and imagination whilst providing exciting learning opportunities. These include Super Hero Day, Pirate Day, Owls About Town, and our very popular Medieval Adventure Day.
Being part of an all-through integrated school allows our children to benefit from joining in whole school events with their older peers. We encourage our children to take part in a range of annual events, including Harvest Festival, the Christmas play, and our nativity and carol services. In the Lent term, the children participate in the music concert, and staff and pupils celebrate World Book Day with visiting speakers, themed costumes, and many more book-related activities.
