In Year 5, we have been working hard to understand movement and mechanics while creating our own automata toys. Today, we proudly completed our Christmas-themed designs! Every pupil achieved a successful outcome and should be very proud of their creativity and effort.
The Juniors really got the Christmas period off to a great start at Shoreham College with the annual Junior Christmas Play, Groovin' The Nativity last week. Ably directed by Brighton and Hove Arts Council Best Director for 2025, Mr. Batstone, first time choreographer Mr Payne, and musical director Ms Elliot, the children danced and sang their way through the Nativity story. Every junior pupil took part with groovy songs and dances that would have worked well back in the 70s and early 80s. Complete with neon headbands, rainbow leg warmers and glitter galore from the angels the audience laughed and loved every moment as did all the children. A huge congratulations to all the juniors pupils, the junior teachers and TAs who put together this brilliant, vibrant show. As one parent said, "Now my Christmas can really begin!"
We were delighted to welcome residents from the local area and from AGE UK to our Junior School dress rehearsal last week. Our visitors had a sneak preview of our Junior Christmas play, and then enjoyed afternoon tea with some of our senior school pupils. #ageukwestsussex #ageukwestsussexbrightonandhove
Year 3 are continuing their learning with the help of chocolate. This week they explored soil layers by creating their own edible models. From topsoil to bedrock, every layer was built (and enjoyed) with plenty of excitement and curiosity.
