Thank you to all the pupils, parents, and staff who came out to help at the Shoreham College water station for the Brighton half-marathon on Sunday. A rewarding day in the sunshine!
And a special shout-out to Mr Ritchie for organising it.
Harry in Year 6 recently competed at the Sussex County Championships where he won a bronze in the 100m fly and also secured finals in the 800m free, 50m fly and 100m free. He got 4 regional times, and was top 8 boy for his age category in Sussex!
Wow, incredible achievement Harry, well done.
Year 2 enjoyed a walk into Southwick to compare the local area to the Isle of Coll in the Inner Hebrides as part of our Island Home topic. Apart from the rain getting steadily heavier, we had a lovely time visiting the church, different shops and the war memorial.
What a game! The Year 9 Rugby squad put in an outstanding performance in their league match against Steyning Grammar School yesterday.
Shoreham came out strong, showing incredible teamwork and individual brilliance to take an early lead through a powerful run by Rhys. The team was able to hold their lead until halftime ending the half 10-7 up.
Steyning fought back in the second half, edging ahead as the clock ticked down. With just two minutes to go and Shoreham now five points behind, Gino showed amazing vision and quick feet to score a try next to the posts to level the scores.
Sadly the following conversion kick went narrowly wide meaning the game ended in a thrilling 29-29 draw— a fair result for two teams that gave it their all.
Well done to all the players, and a HUGE thank you to the parents for their fantastic support on the sidelines!
Year 4 were asked to consider the qualities of good teamwork. Based on these qualities, they then worked in teams to design and create their own versions of Mr. Potato Head.
