Isla and Spotty Magpie did very well representing Shoreham College in recent NSEA pop-up Dressage events. Placing 10th with a score of 66% back in November; and placing 6th with a score of 68% in December. Well done Isla!
Year 2 carried out an absorbing science experiment called 'mopping up'. They learned how to use pipettes carefully and investigate which type of paper was the most absorbent.
Y10 hospitality and catering students Olivia and Louie proudly represented Shoreham College in a cooking competition held at the Brighton MET college. Their dishes were chosen from heats held in the class based on cost, range of nutrients, cooking, and presentation skills. Competing against other local schools in the Brighton & Hove, and Sussex area, Olivia and Louie cooked their main meal for two within an hour, watched by a range of judges, MasterChef style.
Olivia made a sweet potato and lentil cottage pie with a parmesan crisp, whilst Louie made a garlic beef burger with homemade bun and chips. Both pupils did really well, and although they did not go on to win, feedback was that the judges loved their dishes. Well done to both of them.
Years 1 and 2 enjoyed a chilly but sunny morning in the forest looking for changes. We were all wrapped up warm and played games of hide and seek using the forest friends. It’s great to be back!
