Looking back at last year’s Year 11 GCSE pupils who produced an outstanding and diverse body of work in response to the exam theme ‘Gathering’. They showcased creativity, technical skill, and personal expression that led to exceptional GCSE results.
Year 6 have been invited into the Senior DT Design Studio. The pupils have thrown themselves into a textiles project, learning everything from the basics of threading a needle to mastering whip stitches, and some have even successfully sewn on their very first button!
By Christmas, they should all have their very own handmade drawstring bag!
Check back later this term to see their completed creations!
Year 1 visited Steyning Museum to investigate toys. We learned about old and new toys, what they were made of and how they worked. It was a fantastic morning which ended with them enjoying playing with some of the toys.
Friday’s inter-house public speaking competition was a highlight. Each house tackled a different and thoughtful theme: Grenville explored self-worth, Nelson examined privilege through the idea of the invisible backpack, Raleigh reflected on pressure and expectation, and Rodney delved into artificial intelligence and its impact on how we think and live. The standard across all four houses was superb.
Raleigh took first place, followed by Nelson, Rodney and Grenville, though every house delivered with confidence and real insight.
Well done to the U14 Rugby team who kicked off their rugby season this week with a double header against Christ's Hospital and Warden Park. A fantastic afternoon of rugby and a brilliant springboard for the rest of the season.
