Friday’s inter-house public speaking competition was a highlight. Each house tackled a different and thoughtful theme: Grenville explored self-worth, Nelson examined privilege through the idea of the invisible backpack, Raleigh reflected on pressure and expectation, and Rodney delved into artificial intelligence and its impact on how we think and live. The standard across all four houses was superb.
Raleigh took first place, followed by Nelson, Rodney and Grenville, though every house delivered with confidence and real insight.
Well done to the U14 Rugby team who kicked off their rugby season this week with a double header against Christ's Hospital and Warden Park. A fantastic afternoon of rugby and a brilliant springboard for the rest of the season.
Year 7 Enjoying Bookbuzz.
All pupils in year 7 were treated to their own book and enjoyed a relaxing reading session as part of the Bookbuzz programme. Bookbuzz allows pupils to select and keep their own book. There were 16 fantastic books to choose from. Here are some of our year 7 pupils enjoying some reading time with their new books.
In Design and Technology practical lessons, two pupils are chosen each session to be our 'Purple Aprons.' This isn’t about being the ‘best’ at D&T, it’s about showing qualities that matter in the workshop: respect, dedication to their work, supporting others, resilience, and independent problem-solving.
Well done to all the Purple Aprons so far this year - keep up the positive attitude!
In Science, Year 4 have been learning about our digestive system and yesterday we saw it in action. Using bread, water, Tango and milk we had fun outdoors recreating the digestive processes!
