It was lovely to meet all the wonderful families who joined us for our open evening yesterday evening, thank you for taking the time to come and visit us.
Also, a special thank you to the staff and to all our fantastic pupil tour guides, helpers, speakers, musicians and actors who really showcased both the talent and the kindness of Shoreham College.
Wow, what an achievement by Etienne in Year 3 who competed in the SuperOne Kart Championships and placed 5th out of 32 of the best go-karters in the country!
At only 7 years old, Etienne has been karting for 2 years and every week races at speeds of 65mph. His commitment and determination led him to qualify for the final exciting race which saw him make 2 overtakes on the same corner to grab 5th place in the final lap.
The SuperOne is regarded as the premier karting championship in the UK, producing professional drivers including Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button and George Russell!
Go, go, go, Etienne! Everyone at Shoreham College is so proud of you.
Mindfulness in the forest.
Year 4 found a spot on their own and listened to the sounds of the forest, tuning into the sounds around them and enjoying being present in the moment. They then spent some time sketching a plant or animal of their choice. A beautiful and relaxing way to spend an afternoon connecting with nature in our very own forest school.
Year 1 and 2 enjoyed a science lesson finding out about how to create shadows and the position of the sun. We drew had great fun drawing around our own shadows on the playground in the afternoon!
