Congratulations to our latest Duke of Edinburgh achievers who have recently completed their bronze awards. Good luck to Alex and Olivia who are now moving on to the silver award.
On the last day of term, the U14A and B girls' rugby teams went to the ISA Rugby 7's tournament in London. A sunny but windy day saw the teams giving it their absolute all on a full pitch. For some this was their first competitive fixture, but you couldn't tell. Grit, determination and workrate were shown by all. Tackles, scrums, and breaking runs were demonstrated throughout the day. Congratulations to all the girls who took part and the A team who brought home the silver medal.🥈
Well done to all our Year 7 & 8 runners who ran so well at the Sussex Schools cross-country championships, held at Christ’s Hospital earlier this term. This is always an exciting day as there are usually over 200 runners in each race!
Freya and Belle, both in Year 7, finished 23rd & 27th respectively. Both girls went on to represent Sussex Schools at the inter-counties in Southend. Congratulations to both girls, a fantastic achievement!
Year 5 blasted off to Chichester earlier this term for a day at the fascinating South Downs Planetarium. The highlight of the trip was the main presentation in the domed observatory, where we were lucky enough to have Dr John Mason guide us through the solar system as well as taking us on a tour of the International Space Station. Our intrepid explorers came up with a wealth of intelligent (and challenging) questions at the end of the presentation, but, as ever, Dr Mason answered them all. All in all it was a cosmic day out.
